Hello. I just hooked up 2 older 17" monitors to my system that has
dual 22" widescreens-- I got some cheap mounts from
monoprice.com(about $13/ea), and put them above(yes, the height is off
a bit-- didn't realize the mount spots were different on the monitors
until it was too late-- I figured VESA would have standardized that
too, but they just standardized the screw holes...). Here's a pic:

Now, my only problem with this is a functional/layout issue. The
logical way to use this, is arrange it in Windows XP to be in a
square, as they are physically-- move the mouse in the direction you
want to go to each monitor. The problem with this, is I have my
taskbar on the top of my main monitor, and I have it set to auto-hide.
So, when I try to move my mouse to it to make it appear, it goes to
the top monitor instead... What would be ideal for me, would be a
'dead zone' of about 50 pixels at the top of the lower monitors before
the cursor moves to the upper monitors... I did a search of utilities
for multiple monitors and I can't find anything. Maybe I could find a
way to do this myself with some programming, but I think it's
unlikely-- I'd probably have to hook into the mouse driver somehow...
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions/comments? Thanks.
