At first I think I will just use some of the old 14" & 15" CRT monitors to
fill in 5 or 6 of the 8 spots. Yeah, right! heh-heh... The price for some
really incredible LCD units have fallen right through the floor, so only
LCDs are an option any longer. I stick with well known brand names, and
look for strong display specifications and a 36 month manufacturer warranty.
Most of my LCD units are Acer or BenQ, and all run quite nicely. Viewsonic
has begun to offer some LCD units with a 36 month warranty in the last year
or so as well. Whenever I make such a purchase I use my corporate platinum
Visa, with adds another year to the mfg warranty period at no charge.

Actually, in the soon-to-be-renovated Server Room I am looking at putting in
a small conference table (seating 6 or 8) with a drop-down screen at one end
of the room, and use my XGA DLP projector to display any images needed for
any meetings or intense solo sessions (native XGA 1024 x 768, but
interpolates UXGA 1280 x 1024 perfectly, as well High Definition TV). I
certainly have room for an array of quasi-multiple monitors, but that would
be a waste. All of my Servers are single display units, only my production
and development PCs are dual display. Seems to be plenty enough, but over
the past day or so I am starting to itch to see if a quad display would be
of use....
