Hi

A Tuesday teaser.

I've got a document management utility and a client wanted to store a
63MB file in it. I was using filetostr and strtofile but I hit the 16MB
variable limit.

After looking at the help (a great resource) I'm now using Append Memo
and Copy to

A bit of lateral thinking on my part thought, how can I get the Word
file smaller? It contained lots of images and I found the Resize
(compress) facility to make all the images smaller in the Document.

I've told my client how to use it and they have. The file is now 8MB :o)

I was thinking it would be great to tell word to compress the images in
a document before I save it into my Table. I've been looking in
Intelisensed word object but nothing is screaming at me to say this is
the method. Has anyone managed this?

Robert

I just got a HELL of a deal on an HP laptop -- gonna start running Linux
on it soon...

It's got 2x the power (once I quit using vista) at 1/3 less the weight
than my 2 year old HP.

I'd bet it would SCREAM under Win2K...
