Tracy:  Thanks, but I tried this.  I have a feeling that John's answer is
closer to what may be happening.  Both DBC's are identical and when working
with commands like DBUSED() it uses aliases.

My solution is to backup the DBC first before processing the rest of the
backup.  This does not make the program generic, though.
