Kerrrrrist! Seems to me that you believe that seasons are because of the
ellipse. NO!!! Seasons are because earth's axis is not perpendicular to
earth's orbit around the sun. The ellipse makes no difference at all in
seasonal weather.
Per your theory every 10,000 years we'd be 10,000 inches away. I remind
you that there are 63,360 inches per mile, so your 10,000 inches only
indicate that you haven't thought it enough.

Not opinion, it's a matter of death. If I load one bullet to a gun and
tell you there are 5 chances out of 6 that nothing happens (about 85%),
would you let me pull the trigger? Well, it's the other way round, there
are 5 full chambers in the gun and it's your children's or grand
children's life at stake. Now, would you care for them as much as you
would care for your own life in a Russian roulette? Or would you rather
risk them in order to have a bigger car or a cheaper freezer?
