I really believe the correct medication could have probably solved the problem. His wife and kid had to be traumatized. I know I was. I think I damn near developed an ulcer.
Coincidental another guy I know who was like that, was divorced by his first wife, married a psychiatrist and she found a correct medication for him. I worked on 2 jobs with this guy. We had an 24 man hour estimated job. 12 hours for both of us, to install 6 computers, network them, share printers, etc, on a Saturday. The guy brings his own vacuum cleaner and starts cleaning under all the desks. I'm like "what the f*ck are you doing?" "we're not getting paid to clean their office?". He says, "these people are pigs, we can't put computers in unless their areas are clean". I said, "the f*ck we can't, I'm not working unpaid hours to clean their office". --- Michael Cummings <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I hope everybody/anybody who happens upon this type > of personality that they > document everything I have had to do this in the > past, it sucks but it's the > best protection, usually this type of behavior is > projected on another > person to ease the pain they feel about themselves. > sad... > > MRC > > On 5/7/07, Michael Madigan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: > > > > It was like the japanese soldiers who didn't come > out > > of the caves until years after the war ended. > > > > I've never seen coding like this before. > > > > When I left I told the owners the were f*cked if > the > > guy died on them because no one would be able to > > figure it out. > > > > > > > > --- Virgil Bierschwale > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > Dang, he doesn't live in Austin does he ?? > > > I left american reliable in scottsdale for a gig > in > > > austin because it would > > > put me home and it paid more money. > > > > > > Turned out to be the job from hell just because > of > > > what you're saying here. > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf > > > Of Michael Madigan > > > Sent: Monday, May 07, 2007 9:52 AM > > > To: ProFox Email List > > > Subject: Re: [NF] Programmers and OCD (Obsessive > > > Compulsive Disorder) > > > > > > I worked for a guy who would re-write anything I > > > would > > > do. > > > > > > He would change the variable names, change the > > > spacing, change anything that wasn't sitting > well > > > with > > > his sick mind. > > > > > > If you did a replace, it had to be two to a > line. > > > > > > Like > > > > > > Replace fielda with data1, fieldb with data2,; > > > fieldc with data3, fieldd with data4 > > > > > > > > > instead of > > > > > > Replace fielda with data1,; > > > fieldb with data2,; > > > fieldc with data3,; > > > fieldd with data > > > > > > If you did it with one field, he would just > re-write > > > it. > > > > > > The variable all had to be 8 characters long, > > > regardless. > > > > > > Doing a "beautify" using Foxpro's built-in > utility > > > was > > > a no-no, and he would yell at you for doing it, > > > since > > > Beautify would use too many white spaces. > > > > > > I doubt if there was another programmer alive or > > > dead > > > that was as sick as this guy. > > > > > > I would go home with a knot in my stomach every > > > night. > > > Could you imagine someone re-writing your code > > > every > > > time?
