I suspect you are going about it the wrong way. You sound like you feel defeated before you go into the interview. The trick is to find out what these people want and then tell them you can do it. I know it is hard to do but you have to do it.
Alternatively, think of some product or idea that will sell and then set up to do it. I am constantly amazed at how people make a living. Here are some real examples: 1. The daughter of one of my friends wanted to go to medical college but didn't make the cut so for a while she taught skiing in Colorado. She met and dated a fellow ski bum who got the idea of taking wealthy ski students on trips to Australia to ski there when it is summer time in Colorado. So far they are making enough money to live on. Who knows where it will lead? 2. Another friend of my wife collects and trades picture cards (I am not sure what they are) on eBay. She is not going to get rich but she can survive on the earnings until something better happens. 3. One of my clients is a clearing house for old 78 rpm jazz records. He matches the buyer and seller and collects a commission. He doesn't actually buy the records outright since that is much riskier. 4. Another couple I know about travel around the country eating at fast food restaurants and writing travel guides about the places they visited. Their books are quite entertaining and sell well. Again they won't get rich but they make a living and have a good time. By the way she is as big as a house from eating out all the time. It takes a long time to make these things happen but you can do it in your spare time. The old saying is that when you work for wages as an employee you are too busy trying to survive and cannot make any real money. What can you do in the medical field? If you do Chinese stuff, promote yourself in the Chinese community. Make friends with a mover and shaker and have him promote you by word of mouth. > > Yes, you would think.
