Simple answer yes, more complicated one involves gulf streams moving etc hence 
why we have all these floods and South East Turkey was at 46 degrees Celcius 
when the seasonal norm should have been 32 (That made a not so much fun holiday 
with a 1 year old and a 2 1/2 year old).
