Actually this wasn't my first "experience" with Acer computers...
Back in the late 80's I made a bundle of $$ working for a friends service depot. All he did was swap out Acer motherboards for about 6 months. Apparently there was some sort of flaw on them which they fixed, corporate customers were given on site replacements of the updated motherboards.
