Some of these 23 watt fluorescent bulbs, which advertise themselves as
being "as bright as 100 watt incandescent", still clearly are not. I've
also noticed that some of them seem to start out dim, and after a minute or
so get brighter--but not as bright as a 100 watt incandescent.

So--The 30 watt flourescent bulb I tested is definitely as bright as the
100 watt incandescent for which I substituted it. The 19 watt flourescent
that I substituted for a 75 watt incandescent is adequate. The 23 watt
bulbs are not adequate. It's very difficult to find a 26 watt fluorescent
bulb around these parts.
