John- A useful example that I created some time ago is available at http://www.intellectiongroup.com/Resources/SmallFramework.zip; it's in the public domain as far as I'm concerned.
To install it, unzip the download into a folder on the C: drive and follow the directions in ComTestSub.txt. Ping me if you have questions or problems. We have a far larger and more robust version of this that we use to create a variety of complex extranet applications. It's rock solid and has a lightweight footprint on a server infrastructure. It's VFP, too, so it's fast. We are partial to a thin ASP layer that calls back to a VFP COM+ component on the web server, which in turn processes the posted information and sends a response (often, "OK"). Make sense? I've got plenty of code examples.
