Rick: I was managing one email account and one exchange account. My wife manages two email accounts and we both keep our pst files lean. There is definitely something wrong with my installation and as I mentioned, I tried everything I found on the Internet. I still have to go into it now and then to retrieve an email and the process of reading one email will take 10 minutes.
On the other side, I bought a new laptop that has Vista Home Premium and I have been using it for about a week. I am using Thunderbird, Firefox and Open Office and they all perform great on Vista. There are features that Thunderbird doesn't provide, but I have found ways around them and am very happy with Thunderbird. Nice to hear from you by the way!
