I have that with 2003 too. Seems it cant multi task and let you see the
messages while its looking for new ones. Times Ive kicked it with task
manager Ive lost count. If it was not for the transfer to the pocketpc I
might look elsewhere.

Subject: RE: [NF] Outlook Slow

Hi Jeff,

I have the a problem with Send/Receive which I hear is very common with
Outlook 2007. The instance of Outlook "freezes" which is a real pain in the
neck. I have blogged about my struggles with Outlook of late and I can only
tell you Microsoft is very aware of this issue. I have heard it could be
related to the number of email accounts you are managing, they types of
email servers, and the size of the PST file(s). I wish I had good news.

Based on your success moving to Thunderbird I actually gave it a brief
consideration. But I have heard horror stories about Thunderbird too. I also
need the synchronization capability with my Treo 700w phone. So as the
saying goes, better to live with known horrors than to experience new ones
you do not know anything about.
