In the process of moving to a new box at home. Old one used Outlook and I'm going with Thunderbird on the new one. My intention was to ditch all the old email but bring over my address book.
As far as I can tell, and my online research has shown, is that unless you have Outlook installed on the machine you are using Thunderbird on, you must have Outlook installed to do the import. I'm very hesitant to install anything MS Office related on my new box (as part of my general migration away from MS). There are some workarounds that describe using Outlook Express as well - but that's just a different flavour of the same crappy ice cream... Looks like I'll be printing the thing out and just referring to it as needed... -- Matthew S.
