OK, I don't know why I am having such a hard time internalizing date
comparisons in MySQl syntax. But I am -- I have been fooling around
with this for a couple of hours on the MySQL site and I am ready to
tear my hair out.
In Fox syntax, examples of I am trying to do are:
1:
SELECT (fields)
FROM (table)
WHERE YEAR(<datetimefield>) = YEAR(DATE())
IOW, where the dates in<datetimefield> are *this* year.
2:
SELECT (fields)
FROM (table)
WHERE <datetimefield> >= gomonth(DATETIME(),-6)
IOW, where the dates in <datetimefield> are more recent than 6 months
ago.
You can also substitute <datefield>'s for the <datetimefield>'s.
I am ready to throw the MySQL manual in the shredder, but it is hard
to do on the screen.... Anyone care to take pity on me and help me
get over this mental hurdle??
Ken
