This happened to me last week. I logged into my computer and no icons
appeared on the desktop for a really long time. I rebooted and it went
back to the same mode. After rebooting a second time I left it and went
for a walk. When I came back all was normal and it hasn't happened
again. I guess all I can say about that is you're not alone.
