The Democrats have a history of being concerned with the problems of average Americans, like the poor and middle class worker that get up everyday and go out to make a living. The Democrat want to ensure these American have a living wage; thus the minimum wage. The Democrats want to insure these American have health insurance and retirement funds; thus the social security program and recent bill intended to provide health insurance for 10 million American children.
The Republican are more concerned with the wealthy, and the Corporations and their upper management; thus we have tax cuts for the richest American under an economic theory that some of this wealth will trickle down to middle class and poor Americans. The Republicans are opposed to health care, social security, a minimum wage, labor unions, and all other program that address problems of the middle class and poor; because, it hurts Corporate profits which reduce dividend/interest income and stock appreciation in the portfolios of the very rich. The Republicans are more pro Industrial Military Complex, which they award lucrative contract to make weapons for export to other countries or for the USA military use in preemptive wars. The poor immigrants that become USA citizens, or the Hispanic naturalized citizens tend to vote Democratic; because, the Democratic party is concerned about their problems, will act as their representatives, and will work to meet meet their needs, while the Republican party would rather not be bothered with the issue and problems facing middle class and poor citizens.
