Some of the enhancements in v4 and v5 improve the output to Flash which is how I distribute the files (smaller, faster, better, etc.). It also simplifies the publication of the videos I create. I will be upgrading to v5 soon, but I am sure you will find v3.12 extremely useful, especially if you have nothing to record screencasts.
