Family connections seem better suited to phone calls/visits. In any case, the phone spoils people. They don't have to think or write, just pickup the phone. I suppose all well and good for family, but for business it's just too costly to give everyone phone access to developers. What I have done here, for product support, is grease the path with a command button on the app's screen to launch the forum app, so it's one-click from the app to the forum. I think this ease of access (plus not having developer's phone numbers in the first place) will serve the purpose. Beyond the forum, I'm integrating the web in all the ways it's useful. I also provide automated software maintenance downloads, a mini-browser, customer report publishing to the web, e-mailings, mapping, remote control, backups over the net - am now getting serious about videos - and always on the lookout for more things I can do to take advantage of this amazing invention.
