Michael,
Have you ever seen the mount of time that Acrobat 7 takes to load on a lower
spec machine and the size of the updates that it tries to automatically
download at seemingly regular intervals?

V5 or V6 is about the best balance I think between speed and usability.

Why would someone keep an old reader when the latest versions are free 
downloads?
