Or it is not enough value for the money.  Face it, Amazon changed the
way people buy books.  Instead of relying on some store clerk who
'might' know something about a book, you can go on Amazon and find
reviews of others who have read the book.  I one time used MySimon.com
to find a computer book and it came back with the lowest price being
Walmart.com.  I guess the Borders and BN keep in business for the folks
who want to go and touch and feel the books.  There is the speed aspect
to consider as well. Otherwise, I just go the library...  YMMV
