True, but we all rely on the tools we use, and to code everything in assembler is not something you'd want. Python is a platform as well, and one day it too will be dead. When the OP wrote that he needs a web service in the _near future_, not checking out what is available and useful right now in Visual Studio would be a very bad move, IMHO.
