To Ed's credit he has stayed true to his
anti-censorship stance. He has proven that it works.
I have seen lists come to a screeching halt by
overzealous moderators. Profox was started as a
response to a list Nazi.

A horse racing list I own is made up of people who
were banned from another list for failing to trim
their posts. The list is made up of gamblers, horse
vets, horse owners, grooms and jockeys. The only
"people" I have banned are the members who sent
Viagra spam. There have been plenty of disagreements
and occasional name calling, but no banishments
(although I know the temptation is great).

My list gets about 1000 messages a month now and the
former list gets about 3. The people complaining
about volume of mail now have their wish. A group
with 1000 members receives 3 posts a month now.
