I think I kind of understand what you are saying, but are you saying war is 
acceptable, just not 'justifiable'?

No, I say nothing is "justifiable". You have to take personal
responsibility for what you do and for what you defend, and there are no
excuses. If you murder then it's murder. If you torture then you are a
torturer, I don't care if you save lives or not, to torture you have to
have the spirit of a torturer. And yes, sometimes it may be better to
loose and be proud of yourself than to win and loose everything.
