        And that would mean that if we invaded, say, a sovereign nation in  
the Middle East, the other countries there should just let us duke it  
out, right? Or should they take the view that you espouse, and step up  
to the plate and help that poor invaded country repel the invaders?

        When we step in, we're being magnanimous. When they do it, they're  
"insurgents" or "terrorists". BTW, these same al Qaeda groups that we  
are hunting down in Iraq are the ones we funded when they were  
"insurging" against the Soviet Union. Of course, then we called them  
"freedom fighters".
