Funny thing happened to me along the same lies Friday. My wife's XP Pro SP2
PC at her office startd giving some grief. Turns out it is no longer
honoring the way we set it up to advise of M$ updates, but requires us to
fire off the installation. It is now installing on its own upon her
rebooting or shutting down.. Even when logged in as administrator I can't
change the M$ Update settings, they are all grayed out. The only person
who uses her PC is her, and she knows to not make any setup changes (she
really is good with computer systems in her own right). My paranoid and
suspicious sodes tell me a recent M$ update is responsible for taking away
our ability to determine what the PC's behavior ought to be like, but until
Lew's eMail to ProFox I thought it must just be a fluke. Like Lew, I am
open for suggestions.
