Irrespective of which country I'm in I see so many idiots blasting past traffic on bikes and then 100 yards further on their bike is wedged into the side of a car that was pulling out through the traffic. I ride but only in the US and UK (Never in Turkey) and take the view that I'll only overtake if necessary and take my time getting from A - B, but then my bikes have never been "crotch rockets" (Currently a Kawasaki Versys http://www.versys.co.uk/ ). It is proven though that bike riders make safer car drivers as their spacial awareness is more developed, the vast majority are still idiots on bikes but safer in cars.

I have to agree with you, I'd love to have one, but not on a road full of nutcases. I have a friend whose wife is an ER nurse. She made him agree not to ride the bike when she was working. As far as the riders being aholes... that's part of it too. I've been cruising at 75-80 and some kid on a crotchrocket goes flying by. That's the kind that end up as grease spots on the road. A guy I used to work with came into abrupt contact at 70-80 with a stopped 18 wheeler. Alcohol had something do with that one too, so some of the problems here are self inflicted. They give you a test for your license, unfortunately it's not an intelligence test.
