As you say, it's all about trust, and unfortunately as Whil > mentioned, M$ lost many people's trust with their "big brother" style of > updating your computer when you said "no thanks" and by the anti-piracy > measures that incorrectly labeled good customers as pirates. Thankfully, M$ has backed off of some of them > to a lesser degree. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The bigger picture is that at best 15% of the computing population will have that bias, giving the other 85% of the world the choice to install new software to make my web presentation look better. Sorry but for all the new stuff thrown at the market from cell phone web connections to mega services that will want to get better displays for what they sell the market will absorb the "new shoved down it's throat" and if it works everyone will get it in no time at all. That 15% may be over reaching the 2,4,6 or 8% who just loath M$. But who gives a crap anyway. M$ is not forcing the IE only version of this. They have not only their IE, but also Safari as well as FireFox. I don't see this as bad an idea from M$ as say the Zune is/was going against the iPod. I see this as the next great step of the newer Rich Interface that the web has missed over the past 10 years. Both Adobe and M$ see it and are making tools for developers to run with. You have to buy into one group or another at this point inthe game. So making fun of M$ for screwing things up and not looking to Adobe and having the same distrust I have to chuckle. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer Mimeo.com Memphis TN 901.246-0159 --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
