"There is no train on the route—Amtrak's Desert Wind between Los Angeles and
Las Vegas was canceled in 1997 because of low ridership. "

So what, now there's going to be ridership after 10 years? How silly is this?

Las Vegas to LA is an easy 4-hour drive. Why would I pay hundreds of dollars
for a train ride that takes 2 hours?

And I don't understand how they're calculating the time. IF I drive at 65 mph,
I get there in 4 hours. IF I take a 300-mph train I get there in " well under
2 hours" ? Shouldn't it be like 48 minutes or an hour tops due to speeding up
and slowing down?
