Let me predict (hands to my head): "Conservation! Now!" In other words, the whole society has to change the way it does things. Right Now. Well-proven in history: the only way to _profoundly_ change Americans' habits it through the old pocketbook. Like right now. Crying "conserve!" does next-to-nothing. Conservation has to happen, but it won't happen in the short term and not without economic disincentive. Oh, yeah, those with no ideas but conservation (no nukes, no coal, no NG, no new drilling, no no no) are the same ones who cry "unfair" when oil prices go up.
