The Bill of Rights were intended to protect against tyrannical government.
Those with a vested interest in building a massive super-state and
controlling your life from cradle to grave (dictatorship "with benefits" as
it were) would naturally be opposed to it, and seek any way to undermine it.


Hence, McCain-Feingold's assault on the first amendment, and the Dems'
assault on the 2nd, not to mention various encroachments on others over the
years by both parties.

There are no good options for lovers of liberty anymore. :(
