I don't really think he's an easier target for his race. There were racial
attacks against white candidates like Dukakis, for example. Racial attacks
get used pretty regularly, and right now there's a lot of sensitivity to it
even among republicans so I'm guessing it won't be out front and blatant.
Where it is likely to happen is in more private settings.

The folks that would respond to a racial attack are probably not Obama
voters anyway. Perhaps the attack machine won't be as racially motivated as
in prior elections.

The real attack machine will be coming for liberalism and for inexperience.
There's a lot of fodder on the liberalism front, because Obama is recorded
as being anti death penalty and several other positions that are more
liberal than the Clintons were.

IMO, it is going to be difficult to elect a president from the far left,
whether there are racial attacks or not.
