Not in Florida! If you aren't going 80 in a 70 on the highway, the cops will drive around you angrily and flip you the bird. Well OK they won't do THAT but they usually don't pull you over either. You have to be doing 100, and weaving and bobbing between lanes, to get pulled over. But then they really bust you hard, three squad cars and a black helicopter with snipers hanging down and everything. (For the record, in my whole life I had one $10 ticket when I was rammed in an intersection in Cleveland back in 1996 or thereabouts that has lots of accidents. I was technically in the wrong but it was one of those scenarios where the judge was lenient because of the high number of incidents in that particularly screwed up downtown intersection, and my exemplary driving record to that point. But I have, so far (knock on my skull or some other nearby piece of wood) not been ticketed for speeding. I did get a warning once in 2005 in Gainesville on a main road (not the highway). That's the extent of my career as a law breaker.) Incidentally, the Right Hon. Sen. Warner, ostensibly a Republican, has proposed a national speed limit of 55 to -- get this! -- address the high price of gas. Will somebody in Va. please force him into retirement early? He needs a lobotomy ASAP. Anyway. - Bob > Allen > > -----Original Message----- > >> Or drive twice as fast, and get there in, well you know....<< > > Not in Georgia with non-Georgia license plates!
