The sale was canceled today. I spoke with Countrywide's attorney, and am
hoping they'll accept a reasonable settlement offer from us.

I am more hopeful than I've been in some time now that we can finally get
the house finished and occupy it.

I was worried that the only course open to me was to declare bankruptcy. I
don't want to do that, though, so hopefully I won't have to.

In other news tonight, Steve got his left knee replaced while I was in
court. I felt horrible that I couldn't be with him until after the surgery
was over, but it turns out he felt badly that he couldn't be with me. The
surgery went well, and for that I'm grateful. It was the same surgeon that
replace his right hip last year. At this rate he'll have all new joints in
no time. :-)
