Agreed.
The period from 2002 till now has taught me that "Cash is king"
You can live very nicely on a very small amount of income IF you have NO
DEBT.

That's what is wrong with our society today.
Only took me 50 years to learn it, but cash is king, debt is misery...

I agree with you totally -- it's probably ineffective.  :-)

I don't know, or want to know what your financial situation is with that
card, but if you have any way of moving all debt off that card, you'll find
that they cave like a cheap deck of cards.

Even if you transfer it to another high rate card temporarily, or raid 
your savings temporarily, it will work.   Pay it off - wait until the 
end of the cycle, check to see how much got added on in finance charges
during the partial month, pay THAT amount immediately to bring it to a zero
balance, and wait.  You won't have to wait more then 6 weeks before they
come crawling back to you all friendly-like, waving low-interest 
rate transfer plans in your face.   To quote Scott Bilkner "You have to 
spank their little bottom lines." 

Of course, if you're lucky enough that you can just pay it off, so much the
better.
