I don't think I can earn your way into the light by good works, helping the poor, contributing to worthy causes, clean living, or any other acts of kindness and caring. I think its more about seeking God, forming a relationship with him, repenting of my wrongs, and asking God's forgiveness. I am saved by God's grace, not by my good works; because, I am a sinner, as we all are with only Jesus Christ/God the exception. Some would say that its a matter also of accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour, but if Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, then accepting Jesus Christ as your savior is the same thing as accepting God as your savior; since, The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit are one in the same entity, (eg the Holy trinity). Again, this is getting into something that's hard to understand and doesn't make sense, but I accept it in faith.
