I wonder if the ancient Aztecs had non-believers who thought it was stupid to worship some ugly statue that some idiot made out of gold? I guess someone killed them for not believing. (I just said Aztecs to make a point - I don't know jack about Aztecs or even if I am spelling it correctly, so please don't flame me about Aztecs not believing in gold statues).
I also wonder about people who worshiped the sun. Actually, maybe I believe in the sun. Scientists say the sun sends more energy to the earth in 1 hour than all the energy used in a full day by all people. Maybe I should write a book about the sun. Can you believe it? a religion with some science to back it up? No, I guess people would never go for that. It would not require any faith. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ed Leafe" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "ProFox Email List" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2008 5:39 PM Subject: Re: [OT] why some people get the God story. And you and others completely ignore the fact that if your version of an omnipotent creator is true, then we are *exactly* the way he intended us to be. What you describe as 'shortcomings' or 'flaws' are actually specific features given to us by our creator. They *have to be*, since the creator is omnipotent. So this creator can't make some of us one way, and others another way, and then blame us for the differences. -- Ed Leafe [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
