I am getting my feet wet in Ubuntu and seem to have a situation where Firefox
and Flashplayer are somhow out of sync. I should probably do a complete
reinstall of the OS as one does when running Windows but what would I learn
from that?

I had the system uninstall Firefox and then reinstall it. I installed the
Flashplayer 10 beta without seeing any reported errors but when I do the
about:plugins in Firefox there is no mention of FlashPlayer. I'm wishing for a
checklist of the full paths of the files that need to be in place for
flashplayer to work. Perhaps there are other conditions that can keep it from
working. I found some references to a .dat file that needs to be removed but
have never located that file on my installation.

Any advice welcome.

TIA- Joe
