Since we're sharing experiences....

I'm helping with the computers at a school. They've got around 40 of 'em. 
During the past year we had to wipe all of them at one time or another 
(well, I think there were 4 or 5 that made it through). Some of them were 
wiped more than once. They were pretty much running XP (hmmm.... I think 
the 4 or so that didn't get wiped had Win 2000 on them - I need to check 
that). MS Exchange crapped out every couple months too.

At a client site, where there are about 300 workstations (win 2000 and XP), 
wiping is a fairly common practice too. I don't have the stats on it, but 
just about every user I know down there has had their computer wiped at 
least once in the past 3 years.

So I haven't seen the once-per-month scenario. Of the 2 XP machines I have 
I've wiped one of them once and another of them twice in the past 3 or so 
years (maybe that's why they're not performing very well at the moment.... 
hmm....). It certainly is a huge pain to wipe 'em.
