Gil, Thanks a lot. I've been plagued with this problem for a while now. Your clarifications and the r-tt website is making me think I'll be able to accomplished this with no problems. BTW, the PC is using IDE drives so the SATA issue you described shouldn't come into play.
Thanks again! BTW, there is one little behavior characteristic with r_DriveImage that you may need to be aware of. If the replacement Boot Drive is a SATA Drive you will need to place it into the PC/Server as a 2nd HDD and restore the image to it (make sure you tell the app it is to be the Active Partition/Boot Drive). After restoring the image to the larger drive, then shut down the machine and swap out the drives. Why? The one limitation I found is when you use the r_DriveImage Boot CD to do a bare metal image restore, it will not recognize SATA HDD units. In my case it is no big deal as I have a machine I use for nothing but drive data recovery that has IDE, SATA, USB, Firewire & SCSI interfaces. In your case you may not have that available so readily. That said, I still feel r_DriveImage is the way to go for Server Drive imaging.
