I am VERY pleased with the choice of Gov. Palin. She's a real conservative
reformer, and will acquit herself exceedingly well against Joe "I think I
have a much higher IQ than you do" Biden in the debates. I almost can't
wait!

A few interesting details:

* Among her first acts as governor, she sold the governor's jet on ebay on
the grounds that it was just a pork perk:

* She turned down the infamous "Bridge to Nowhere" for sound financial
reasons, despite the clout of "good ol boy" Republicans who fought to get
the pork $$$ earmarked for it.

* She decided NOT to abort her fifth baby despite the fact that it has Down
syndrome, and indeed, having children does not seem to have affected her
career at all. She's the best pro-life candidate the Republican party can
put forth, yes, precisely because she is a woman.

* She's a staunch defender of the 2nd amendment, and a proud NRA member.

The Obama campaign's response to her selection was typically petty. They
said McCain chose an ex-mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy
experience to be a beat away from the presidency. I think the response to
that one writes itself! ("The Dems chose an ex-community organizer with zero
executive OR foreign policy experience for the presidency itself").

McCain MORE than covers her lack of foreign policy experience, and he's at
the TOP of the ticket. Biden's credentials are profoundly overrated, as an
examination of his actual positions over the years will reveal, and he
undermines completely any credibility Obama had about "changing Washington".

McCain as the future of the Republican party disturbed me. But Palin is a
young conservative who excites me, and her selection makes the choice this
November VERY EASY.

BTW, it crystallized for me today this way. Obama/Biden want to change, not
Washington (why else pick Biden?), but rather America.

McCain/Palin want to change Washington, not America.
