We'll know better when she goes toe-to-toe with Biden. I think you'll be
pleasantly surprised.

Again, I could be wrong, but McCain could have done a LOT worse than Palin.
Some of the RINOs on his list had me really worried. She's got a compelling
life story and so far a mostly excellent record as governor of Alaska. I do
not personally subscribe to the idea that senators or life-long legislators
have "enough experience" to be executives no matter how many years they have
in office as legislators. They tend to be wonkish know-it-alls who vacillate
with the political winds.

Romney would probably have been the best pick, executive experience wise,
for either the top or bottom of the ticket. Don't underestimate Palin. In
any case, it's OK to overestimate her for now. The campaign will prove her
out one way or another.
