If Governor Palin defines bring our boys home from Iraq, responsibly,
and with dignity, as waving a white flag of surrender, then it would be
interesting to hear Governor Palin's definition of victory.

If governor Palin defines victory in Iraq as winning the war, that
already happened a long time ago. If victory in Iraq is removing WMD
that threatened the US and ME region, that's impossible; because, there
were no weapons of mass destruction or rogue programs to produce WMD.
If Governor Palin defines victory in Iraq as deposing Saddam Hussein,
and imposing justice for crimes he committed, then that has also been
accomplished.

Perhaps governor Palin defines Victory in Iraq as bing a democratic form
of government to the Iraqi people. If so, that is entirely up to the
Iraqi people. Democracy is a political process that must come from the
hearts of a majority of the Iraqi people, and it cannot be forced down
the throat of the Iraq people at the end of a barrel of a gun by an
occupying country.

If governor Palin defines victory in Iraq as an open ended commitment to
continue the occupation indefinitely in order to repress violence and
civil war, and to prop up the government, then that is not victory, that
is oppression by a occupying country.

I think both the surge in Iraq and the purposed wall street relief
package are both measures to protect the Bush Administration until it
can pass the buck off to the next administration coming in after the
election, until then we will continue to hear call for staying the
course. LOL
