I am concerned with his temperament. I see McCain as even more prone to
invading other countries than Bush. His propensity to try to 'win' wars
might come from being a POW during Vietnam -- I don't know. But I don't see
Iraq as a 'winnable' situation. The only 'win' is to turn over Iraq to the
Iraqis.

I originally had an opinion similar to yours about Obama. I have changed my
mind after carefully considering him. While Hillary was in the picture I
honestly didn't give him much serious consideration. I didn't want to like
him.

I hear you. But then again McCain has also never run a small business or
governed a city or a state.

I am not anti-Palin. I don't think she's ready to be VP to a 72-year-old
guy, but I surely don't think she's an idiot. There is a lot to like there.
I hope she cleans up her ethical act as well as McCain did. She has a future
in the Republican party if she does a good job improving her ethical record.

IMO, McCain is history. He blew his chance by being inconsistent during his
campaign. Not to worry. He can simply retire and divide his time between his
homes in whatever percentage suits him.
