There are issues -- aren't there always? I don't have specific experience with the Brother multi-functions, so you'll need to see what the manufacturer can tell you about that. Printing to network servers are pretty well established, standardized technologies: IPP, TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and so forth. Faxing and talking to the scanner and other functions depend on having drivers on the PC that know how to communicate with the network device, typically over proprietary prototcols. HP uses extentions to their JetTalk. That said, we use a wired HP OfficeJet from Linux, OS X and Windows XP/2000 without too many issues. Some machines have drivers that lack duplex options; others have local firewalling that frustrate the faxing or scanning. We've been able to resolve most of the issues if necessary, or just walk over to the print and fax manually. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
