Kevin - More ideas on AFUG Virtual/Video membership drive: 1. Offer a discounted membership to paid-up members of other partner user groups. So maybe $15 to them.
2. At your next meeting, get a commitment from each current AFUG member to directly contact a Foxpro associate that they have (presumably outside the Atlanta area, right) and specifically ask them to join as a Virtual/Video member. Surely every current member knows at least one Foxpro hack outside the geographic area that they have a relationship with that they cold bring into the fold. Guess what, you just doubled your membership! (Hey - I'll join on your behalf so you can set a good example by saying that you've already got your member joined up <g>). 3. Add a new page on your web site specific to this cause, with a PayPal link, and a sample video. Actually, you need to do this early, so that all these other ideas will have something concrete to point people to. 4. Announce, Announce, Announce. The biggest mistake I think I see in most efforts like this is the failure to announce all over the place about what you are doing. It will not be very effective if you only add a page on your site; you've got to get this into all the the forums and VFP oriented blogs. 5. Contact Andrew MacNeil and ask him to announce this new this on his next TheFoxShow podcast. 6. Ask Craig Boyd (for example) to blog about it on his Blog (if he ever blogs again. Come on Craig! Oh wait... never mind, don't blog, just keep working on VFP Studio instead). You probably know all the other big VFP guys who have a blog, so contact them to and ask for a blog post about it. Just a few more thoughts I had and wanted share. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
