Exactly. The folks at the high end of the pay scale tend to lose touch with
what the rest of us do and how we live. They think $20K for a flight is no
big deal. They think they are underpaid if they only get $5M per year.

This stuff pervades our entire economy. Is a top movie star really worth
$30M for one movie? Is an NBA star really worth what they get? Should people
really pay over $1000 for a ticket to see a game in a good seat? The numbers
are completely unreal.
