Hi all,

I have need to read some Access tables in a small VFP app. I originally used
a DSN and all worked fine until I tried to install it at the client and they
needed IT permission to set up a DSN on the workstation. Their service model
is based on Dilbert's 'Mordac - Preventer of Information Services' and
therefore such risky things as a DSN virtually required an act of
parliament. After many phone calls and an long complaining meeting with
'Mordac' (I kid you not!) they finally agreed to set up the DSN (as long as
I didn't touch the machine while they had the all-powerful admin log on in
use). The irony is they needed my help to even set up the DSN however...
that is just the ludicrous back story. It all worked fine, until my client
decided to rename and move the MDB file. Now of course the DNS is broken and
a repeat request to Mordac is out of the question.

I would like to read the access tables using the SQLSTRINGCONNECT function,
however getting a connection string to work has eluded me. Being a relative
newbie to doing such things I wonder if some of you kind folk can point me
in the direction of a solution that does not include a DSN and help me
construct a elegant, working connection string.

Naturally enough this is the dinkiest of programs taking a full day and half
to write and worth almost nothing to me. However the main user of it is my
wife and therefore forgetting about it is not an option.

Thanks!
