Ok if you want to play games with words I will explain the point to you. The Geneva Convention seeks to give basic human rights to prisoners. But because the enemy behaves like scumbags that somehow extinguishes the responsibility to behave as human beings? One of the behaviours that distinguished American troops in France in the invasion of Europe was the way they treated people with respect. It absolutely floored French peasants who had been thru multiple invasions over the centuries and had realized that each invader was as bad as the previous one - until Allied troops arrived and showed how it COULD be different. Allied troops - mostly American - demonstrated the way to behave; not just in battle but in victory.
It seems to be a concept that has become muddied in recent days... -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Pete Theisen Sent: Tuesday, 25 November 2008 10:01 AM To: ProFox Email List Subject: Re: [OT] 25 billion won't do it? You have more human rights than I, otherwise you should not have had the facility to move from "Geneva Convention" to "Human Rights" with such facility!
