Well, there are some pretty unreasonable manufacturers out there who
aren't willing to share API info with Open Source projects, so they
are a lost cause. But several vendors have come around and my last
couple of machines have behaved sweetly with wireless. And the new and
revised Network Manager makes switching between various wireless
connections, wired and supposedly even VPNs pretty slick. Hope one
will work for you. There's a new Fedora 10 Live CD on the streets this
very day that might be worth your checking out.
